Northwestern's Journalism School Misspelled Its Own Name

Northwestern made a crucial spelling error on undergraduates’ diplomas when it misspelled integrated as “itegrated.” Embarrassing. It’s an honest mistake. Literally every single English teacher I have ever had has started the beginning of the semester with, “One thing you should know about me: I can’t spell! LOLOLOL.” Yes, it’s so funny how I am supposed to be learning grammar from you, teacher.
I misspell words all the time and it’s super frustrating but you would think for something as significant as a diploma there’d be a number of people double checking (or they’d use a computer spell checker) to make sure everything is correct and in order.
According to Gawker, a university representative said, “It appears that about 30 of the more than 250 diplomas given out at Saturday’s two graduation ceremonies had a spelling error. The diplomas are issued by the university, so we will work with the NU registrar’s office Monday to provide new diplomas to these students.”
Have you ever gotten something important with a sad misspelling on it?
