Not to start this post off on a depressing note, but we’ve lost a fabulous woman in Joan Rivers. She was one of those fearless individuals who would say what everyone else was thinking, not apologize for her uniqueness and become celebrated for it. We can take a lesson from Joan Rivers — to become humans brave enough to say innate and sometimes crude and inappropriate things. Her hilarity made her genuine. Her humor brought her to the present moment and made her stronger.
“I enjoy life when things are happening. I don’t care if it’s good things or bad things. That means you’re alive.” –Joan Rivers
From one twenty-something to another, embrace your inner Joan.
Rule #204: If you get more than three compliments on a dress, buy it in every color.
Experimenting with fashion is good, but there’s nothing better than investing in something you KNOW you look amazing in.
Rule #205: It’s OK to like that new Taylor Swift song.
Only ass-hats are “above” any kind of music. If it makes you happy, rock out.
Rule #206: Always carry a Tide To-Go pen.
Or wear a bib. I suggest the former.
Rule #207: Know how to set a table. Properly.
Common Julia Child 2.0, shine that silverware and put the little spoon on the outside. Your Grandma will shit her pants in excitement and genuine surprise.
Rule #208: Criticism at work is good. It shows people believe in you.
Constructive criticism is a good thing. It helps you learn. It may seem disheartening at times, but understand people only give you their advice because they know you have the ability to improve and they want to see you succeed.
Rule #209: A shot of apple cider vinegar a day keeps the hangovers away.
Apple cider vinegar is said to clean your liver. If you take a shot a day, maybe the hangovers won’t be so bad? I’m for any hangover relief, so sip away.
Rule #210: Dance.
In any situation you’re in, dancing will make it better. Don’t get too literal with this suggestion; you’ll know when it’s the right time.
