We all have something that, to some extent, defines us, a trait or look or vibe that people automatically think of when our names come to mind. Sometimes that look relates to style: Blair Waldorf had her headband obsession, Carrie Bradshaw had that nameplate necklace and a penchant for buying too many shoes, ‘A’ on Pretty Little Liars has that black hoodie, the one which was either purchased in bulk or is just really dirty by now. For some stars, that trademark is all the hair. There are plenty of celebs who have made a certain look a part of her essence, but these are the first five that come to mind. Jennifer Anniston: There have been some fluctuations in length – who could forget ‘The Rachel,’ which just might be the most iconic hairstyle of our time? – but the overall look is always the same, straight, blunt, subtly highlighted and very safe. You won’t see crazy color or an intricate undo for this woman. Hey, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

Halle Berry: She’s grown her hair out a few times but let’s be honest….nobody pictures flowing locks when they think of Halle Berry. I’m just going to go ahead and say that she looks better with the pixie cut style displayed above than any other woman. Ever.

Zoey Deschanel: What sets Zoey apart from her celebrity twin, Katy Perry? The omnipresent hipster-chic fringe. I’m pretty sure Zoey has been doing the blunt bang thing since before it was even cool. I think I would be legitimately weirded out if I ever saw her without bangs.

Blake Lively: I’m going to call it right now: There will never be a time when this soon-to-be mom will not have long, flowing blonde locks. The spirit of Serena van der Woodsen lives on because of this.

Jessica Simpson: As is the case with B. Lively, blonde hair is wrapped up in our ideas of what Jessica Simpson is. Sure, she went brunette for a hot second, but let’s be honest….this girl’s amazing blonde mane is one of the first things that comes to mind (you know, after chicken/tuna) when we think of her. Maybe because her personality just so aptly fits the (unfair) stereotypes of blonde girls?
