According To One Of Its Stars, 'Pitch Perfect 3' Is A Go

As if we aren’t already aca-amped for Pitch Perfect 2, we just heard some great news that will make it even more enjoyable – it’s not going to be the last movie in the franchise! Rebel Wilson told LA Times reporter Amy Kaufman that a third Pitch Perfect installment is already in the works. Rebel’s already in!

Amy notes that there’s no word on if the film’s star, Anna Kendrick, will be a part of the third PP, but it’s still early on in the game.
Will the gang ever graduate college? Or will the new film take their show on the road? Will it star a new generation of Barden Bellas? No matter what the gang takes on, we’ll be at the midnight premiere, popcorn in hand.

Update June 10, 2015

It’s official! The Hollywood Reporter broke the news today that Pitch Perfect 3 is no longer just a rumor.
They say, “There will be more, dear pitches, but it won’t be cheap. With Pitch Perfect 2‘s massive $160.9 million in domestic box office (and counting), Universal and Gold Circle are moving ahead on a third installment.
Sources say negotiations have begun with Kay Cannon, who wrote the first two movies, to return for a third. It remains to be seen whether co-star Elizabeth Banks, a steward of the franchise as one of its producers, will return to the director’s chair.”
No word on which of the stars will be returning. Pitch Perfect 2 saw Beca (Anna Kendrick), Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson), and the rest of the Barden Bellas handing the reigns down to Emily (Hailee Steinfeld) before they graduate. We might see a whole new pack of Bellas. But is it really Pitch Perfect without Anna Kendrick?? Debateable. A whole new crew will just make the threequel feel like season 4 of Glee (and that’s not a great thing).
