You guys, President Barack Obama is just like us. The big man finally got his own Twitter account on Monday – and it’s already verified. We guess he has some connections. His username? POTUS. #PowerMove.
Obama sent his first message from @POTUS with a tweet lamenting how long it took him to get his own Twitter:
Hello, Twitter! It's Barack. Really! Six years in, they're finally giving me my own account.

The White House sent a tweet confirming @POTUS was indeed Mr. President:
BREAKING: President Obama just launched @POTUS with a tweet from the Oval Office. It's really him! #WelcomeToTwitter https://t.co/oMsgvV55i1

Obama had over 30,000 followers within 10 minutes of sending his first tweet. The White House said @POTUS tweets would come “exclusively” from Obama, according to CBS’ Mark Knoller.
One of the former Presidents, who is also pretty social media savvy, did pose an important question to Mr. Obama.
Welcome to @Twitter, @POTUS! One question: Does that username stay with the office? #askingforafriend

Bill, you sly dog.
