I’m not entirely positive, but if I had to guess, I would say that Jon Stewart is among the top 5% of World’s Best People Ever. Though he has made a lot of headlines this year for his decision to leave the Daily Show, with Trevor Noah as his replacement, this week he got attention for his perfect response to those who have criticized or shamed Caitlyn Jenner.

This isn’t much of a shock, as Stewart is seemingly always one of the first people to call bullsh*t where they see it, and make our society take a hard (and often humorous) look at the way we are behaving and reacting to what is going on in the world around us.
But in addition to joining the majority of the media and public that have been positive and accepting of Jenner’s transformation, which is kind of surprising for our society, Stewart also points out that now Caitlyn is going to have to face the harsh standards that women have to every day in America.
“Because it’s really heartening to see that everyone is not only willing to accept Caitlyn Jenner as a woman,” Stewart says. “But to waste no time… in treating her like a woman.”
