On Wednesday morning, Chris Brown‘s home was invaded and robbed… and the robbers allegedly held his aunt at gunpoint before locking her in the closet and ransacking the place.
Meanwhile, Brown was at Argyle, a Hollywood night club, hosting a pre-ESPY party. He got there around 12:30 and left around 2:15 a.m.
The invasion happened around 2:00am at the 26 year-old singer’s home in San Fernando Valley, Los Angeles and involved three masked men who took money as well as electronics and other personal items before fleeing the property. His aunt was not hurt and called 911 but, unfortunately, by the time law enforcement made it to the scene the attackers were already gone.
TMZ sources say that the home invaders specifically targeted Brown’s home, and told his aunt that they knew the home belonged to him, and forced her to tell them where the safe was.
Police believe a possible suspect to be a club promoter who Brown recently received $50,000 in cash from. During the invasion, they allegedly made a reference to the $50k. If this was an “inside job,” the suspected robbers knew that Brown was going to be at the club at the time, and strategically planned the break-in around the fact that they would be able to keep tabs on his whereabouts.
This isn’t the first time Brown has dealt with a home invader, either. In May, Brown found a woman in his home, wearing towels, and then he proceeded to post a picture of it to Instagram.
Two home invasions in just three months? Pretty scary. But Brown is not going to take any more chances and is going to be taking every measure of caution to safeguard his house, especially to protect his 1-year-old daughter, Royalty.
Sources report that “He’s cleaning shop at his new house and the only people he wants there is his family, no one else. No friends, no wild parties, nothing… He’s telling his boys they’re not welcome over anymore and that this new house will not be the ‘kick it crib.”
