Unfortunately, when you have the Houston’s and the Brown’s in the same space, there’s bound to be some sort of drama.
Friends and family paid their respect to the late Bobbi Kristina Brown on Saturday, Aug. 1st, at the Saint James United Methodist Church in Alpharetta, GA where she was brought in in a silver casket to the invitation-only service.
Just when it seemed the Houston’s and Brown’s had put their differences aside so Bobbi Kristina could be put to rest peacefully, drama ensued. According to various media reports, Leolah Brown, Bobby Brown’s sister and Bobbi Kristina’s aunt, abruptly interrupted Pat Houston’s speech by shouting, “Whitney is rolling over in her grave! You are so wrong for this, Pat!”
Immediately following the outbreak, Leolah was escorted out of the building by security (and the famed Tyler Perry) where she vented to paparazzi, “I told her that Whitney is going to haunt her from the grave…[this] is going to be a long, drawn-out thing,” continuing, “Trust me. It’s not over.” Eventually she was allowed back into the services where she joined others in the singing of hymns.
The family feud initially started when Bobbi Kristina was put in a medically induced coma at the end of January. Pat reportedly told Bobby that keeping the troubled star alive would be too costly. A furious Leolah took to Facebook back in June to express her disdain against Pat, writing:
If Pat knew The God that I know, instead of trying to inherit my niece’s money for her personal gain, she would mind her own business and go find A JOB for herself without continuously working so hard to destroy my niece, beg her for money and get angry when she cannot get it! Pat has NO RIGHT WHATSOEVER to be anywhere near my niece’s Estate! Whitney would NEVER CONDONE OR AGREE to that!
Six months after being found face down in a bathtub at her Atlanta home, the 22 year old died while in hospice on July 26 after being taken off of life support. Nick Gordon, Bobbi Kristina’s lover, took to the media on several occasions during this time period to defend himself against all who blame these unfortunate events on him. Ultimately, Gordon was not in attendance at Brown’s funeral yesterday.
Bobbi Kristina will be laid to rest on Monday, Aug. 3rd, next to her legendary mother in New Jersey at the Fairview Cemetery.
