Taylor Swift's Latest, and Most Random, Celebrity Guest

Another day, another celebrity guest welcomed to Taylor Swift‘s stage during her 1989 world tour. The latest though is a bit surprising and, well, kind of out of left field. Instead of the usual female brigade of models and other singers, Swift invited LA Lakers player Kobe Bryant on stage during one of her five sold-out shows at the Staples Center on Friday.

While there he congratulated her for a new record and unveiled a special banner. While selling out one Staples center show is an accomplishment in itself, let alone five, the “Shake It Off” singer now holds the record for selling it out more than any other performer, as it was the 16th show in a row she sold out.

On stage, Bryant said, “Sixteen is a very special number here in Los Angeles because 16 is the same amount of championships that we have as a Lakers franchise. To celebrate those championships, we do something very special. We hang banners. That’s what we do.”
After the show, Swift posted on Instagram in celebration, wondering “WHAT IS LIFE EVEN”?

I don’t know, TayTay, but yours seems to be going pretty well lately. But that hasn’t stopped the pop-singer from remembering her humble beginnings. Earlier this week she posted a throwback picture of one of her earlier shows on Instagram, with the caption: “Getting ready to play 5 shows at Staples Center in LA this week and reminiscing about what my gigs used to be like”.

One Republic singer Ryan Tedder also joined the show to sing “Counting Stars” with Taylor.
Meanwhile, one person who know isn’t celebrating Swift’s success is ex-friend, present-enemy Katy Perry. Supposedly, Perry will be leasing a new song dissing Swift titled “Crocodile Tears” with DJ Diplo.
According to The Sun, the two share hatred towards Taylor and “Katy knew Diplo would be just the man to produce ‘Crocodile Tears’ for her and has now registered it. So far she’s been very restrained with what she’s said about Taylor in public but is now ready to put her side across via the song – which is all about being fake.”
Looks like the two won’t be squashing the beef anytime soon. Sigh.
