As a picky eater, I can recall with great clarity the first time I tried something pumpkin-flavored. It was a pumpkin-flavored beer, around the time when everyone was first losing their sh*t over Pumpkin Spice everything. They claimed it “tasted like fall,” but when that beer entered my mouth, it was actually difficult for me to swallow. Since then, in my mind, pumpkins have been for carving, not consuming.
Turns out I’m not the only one who is over the Pumpkin Spice Latte hype. According to data gathered by MyFitnessPal, PSL’s have had their 15 minutes of fame, and everyone is moving on.

The data shows that 2010-2012 were peak PSL years, but then things have been on the decline since 2013. If the data continues on the trend it’s currently on, PSL’s will face an even bigger decrease in consumption this year.
However, there’s a drink on the rise in Starbucks-land. MyFitnessPal reports that the salted caramel latte is on the rise.

Salted caramel lattes not only taste delicious, they’re a year-round treat. But let’s not pick sides – let’s just bake a cake filled with rainbows and smiles and everyone will drink their Starbucks drink of choice and be happy.
