By now you’ve probably heard that Blake Lively is shutting down Preserve, her bougie lifestyle site. We can’t say it’s super surprising. I mean, we love us some B. Lively (the woman is gorg), but she’s far from relatable. A girl who can eat cupcakes and maintain her perfect body, dress immaculately, cook amazing meals, inspire Karl Lagerfeld, have incredible hair, land Ryan Reynolds, and find success in both TV and movies all at once? Yeah. So not relatable.
But Blake is hardly the first celeb to venture into the lifestyle realm with mixed results – Gwyneth Paltrow has Goop (also bougie). They’ve had success, but sometimes us regular people don’t necessarily feel understood by their brands.
We would love to see more celebrity lifestyle efforts in the same vein as Shay Mitchell’s or Lauren Conrad’s – these sites actually offer information we can use in our day-to-day lives. We think these stars could create some amazing things if they launched their own sites. Whether they focused on e-commerce or lifestyle content, we know these stars would kill the digital game.
