Flower Girl & Ring Bearer Get Married 17 Years Later In Same Church

When I asked my parents how they met, I got a story about my dad hitting on my mom while she was doing laps in the pool at the gym. Twenty-five years later, they’re still married and still go to the same gym. Newlyweds Adrian Franklin and Brooke Gibson Franklin have a much better story to tell their future children.
When Adrian and Brooke were just five years old, they served as ring bearer and flower girl at a family friend’s wedding. They walked down the aisle together then, and 17 years they were walking down the aisle in that same church as man and wife! Naturally, the bride whose wedding took place 17 years ago was one of the 300 guests to witness the event. *It’s the ciiiiiircle of life…*

While Brooke says she always had a crush on Adrian, the groom was much more excited to be next to his bride this go-around. Back when they were kids, he was less than thrilled to be involved in the procession. “I was devastated,” he said. “I was like ‘tell me I don’t have to walk down the aisle with her!'”
Adrian came around in high school, and asked Brooke out officially with a little game. The two would draw with their fingers on each other’s backs and guess what the other person was writing.
“I wrote ‘Will you be my girlfriend’ and she guessed it, but didn’t answer me,” Adrian said. “I said ‘Well Brooke, are you going to say anything?” and she said “Well, you didn’t write a question mark.'”
When Adrian proposed, he made sure to involve the beginning of their romantic relationship, having his friends ride by on a boat with a sign reading, “Will you marry me Brooke” before handing her a question mark.
The couple decided to hold the wedding at the same church, South Gastonia Church of God in North Carolina, where they walked down the aisle 17 years earlier.
