Exes Gwyneth Paltrow & Chris Martin Created A Song Together Because Of Course

When it comes to being exes, no one does it quite like Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin.
The divorced couple, who essentially popularized the term “conscious uncoupling” back in 2014, have now taken their amicable split to a whole new level. This time by creating a song together.
Weeks ago, Coldplay singer Chris Martin told the Wall Street Journal that he was including the actress and lifestyle guru on the band’s new album A Head Full of Dreams by having her vocals on the song “Everglow,” which is “a ballad about a relationship’s enduring spark.”
“Everyone who got asked to sing on our album has an important part in our lives,” Martin said. “This is The Wall Street Journal, so I don’t want to get too hippie, but what I’m trying to learn in my life is the value of every human.”
In another interview with Q magazine, Martin said, “She came up with the idea so I said, ‘Is there any chance you’d sing that line cos it’s your idea?’ Like any human, she was like, ‘I can’t do that! I’m not a professional!’”
He also added, “It’s a loved one or a situation or a friend or a relationship that’s finished, or someone’s passed away — I was thinking about, after you’ve been through the sadness of something, you also get this everglow. That’s what it’s about.”
“Everglow” debuted recently on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show.
One of the Goop-founder’s lyrics is: “Well they say people come/Say people go/This particular diamond/Is extra special/And though you might be gone/And the world may not know/Still I see you’re celestial.”
