Elya Bulochka is facing immense backlash after posting photos of dead fish on model’s faces used as makeup on her now-deleted Instagram. According to the Daily Mail, Bulochka apparently killed the fish and used them as accessories in a photo shoot. The models wore neon makeup and gems on their faces with the fish placed around their cheeks and forehead.

Before posting the photos, Bulochka held up a clear bag of fish, captioning the photo, “Guess what I’m going to be wearing today.” This resulted in many of her followers to chastise her for killing the creatures for art.
In response to the controversy, she posted a photo wearing sardines on her face, apparently writing, “Now I want to play you in a game of ‘double standards’ spot 10 differences.” You can view the image below.

She eventually deleted her account. However, she seemed to have commented on the hate she has received online, stating, “We were blamed for inhumanity, we are torn into pieces in comments and media, and we are insulted, even cursed.”
Animals should not be killed in the name of art, period. Additionally, wouldn’t the dead fish smell atrocious? Why would you ever put dead fish on your face!?
