The Perfect Invention For People Who Hate Washing Their Hair

If you have long, thick hair, then you know the pains of having to wash your hair and re-styling it. Perhaps you occasionally consider skipping weights at the gym because you work your arms out so much when merely straightening your hair. Perhaps you choose to forgo washing your hair entirely and use dry shampoo instead because the re-styling process is too tiring and time-consuming.

Regardless, at a certain point during the week, your scalp will get oily and it will get uncomfortably itchy. You will need to wash your hair despite how much you don’t want to. Thankfully, there was a genius who blessed those with long, thick hair with the invention called the PonyDry.

The PonyDry is a sleeve where you can put your hair in. Pull all of your hair into a ponytail and slip it in the PonyDry. There is a tiny bungee cord that closes the sleeve and prevents water from getting in. Now you can just wash your roots in the shower!

Once you’re done showering, you take off the sleeve and all you need to do is wash the top of your hair. Unfortunately, there’s always a catch.

Kat Zemtsova is a big supporter of the product, but advises that only people with straight hair to use it. If you have naturally curly hair, it will be tough to re-style it after your roots return to their natural state.

Zemtsova states that PonyDry is perfect for those who work out frequently and for those who have super-bleached or processed hair. She says that the PonyDry can help prevent your ends from getting dry and breaking. However, Zemtsova emphasizes that you really do need to wash your hair at least once a week. She says that “the bacteria that collects and sits in the hair starts rubbing off on your face and neck, which can cause breakouts. And your hair follicles stay blocked, which can eventually cause hair loss.”

As much time the PonyDry might save you in your daily beauty routine, you’ll have to be extra conscious about the state of your skin after not washing your hair for a couple of days. It’s a nifty little invention for those busy people who have limited time to wash and re-style their hair (a.k.a. college students), but it obviously doesn’t replace washing your hair entirely.

Maybe some day we’ll be able to snap our fingers and our oily hair will magically disappear.
