This is not great news for the hundreds of thousands of kids who dressed up as the Red Ranger for Halloween every single year.

Former Power Rangers star Ricardo Medina Jr. has been charged with the 2015 death of his roommate, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced and Variety reports.

The 36 year old who played Cole Evans/Red Lion Wild Force Ranger on the TV series Power Rangers Wild Force was arrested Wednesday morning on a felony complaint and is scheduled to be arraigned next week. According to a press release from the L.A. D.A.’s office, prosecutors will ask that Medina’s bail be set at $1 million.

Almost a year ago on January 31, 2015, Medina’s roommate Josh Sutter was fatally stabbed after an argument about Medina’s girlfriend. On February 3, 2015, prosecutors announced Medina would not face charges after he claimed he acted in self defense. He was released from police custody at that time.

If convicted, Medina faces 26 years to life in prison. The case remains under investigation by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
