Mark Salling Will Not Be Starring In This Film Following His Child Porn Indictment

Days after being indicted on child pornography charges, Mark Salling has lost his movie role on Adi Shankar’s action film, Gods and Secrets.

Re-shoots for the film, which also stars Denise Richards, Kellan Lutz, Jane Seymour, Jackson Rathborne and RJ Mitte, have already been scheduled. It was reported by TMZ that the director is “personally” paying for the extra fees. In addition, there are already plans in place to donate a percentage of the film’s profit to an abused children’s charity.

Salling’s role is now open to other actors and actresses.

Last week, Salling was indicted on two counts of child pornography by a federal grand jury – five months after his laptop was seized from his home. At the time, authorities arrested the actor in Los Angeles, California, after uncovering hundreds of images on the device.

The director of Gods and Secrets has responded to Salling’s indictment, according to a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. He said:

I hope that Mark finds inner peace … Hopefully some good will come of all of this and I pray that when the dust has settled, the hyper-connectivity of the information age that has brought to light the transgressions of several public figures, will also force us to look within our society to identify and eliminate the root cause of the rape culture we exist in.

If Salling is convicted, he could face five to 20 years in prison.
