Tom Hiddleston may be best known for portraying Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, a highly-publicized relationship with Taylor Swift has definitely helped the hunky star become even more widely known. A T Swift romance tends to do that to a guy. Don’t be fooled, though. Taylor Swift wasn’t the only one in the relationship making record-breaking money.
Hiddleston got his start in theater and received extensive classical training, which shows in his turn in portraying everyone from Henry V to F. Scott Fitzgerald. Regardless, the actor has a dedicated legion of fans called “Hiddlestoners” and numerous high-profile credits to his name. He’s one of the biggest stars out there right now, and maybe that’s why it’s rumored that the Brit will take on what would be his biggest role to date, James Bond. With all of this in mind, how much is Hiddleston worth today?
As of 2018, Tom Hiddleston is worth $8 million.
Let’s take a look at how Hiddleston has made all of his riches!

He first appeared on screens in 2001 on The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby, while he was still in school. Hiddleston really broke onto the scene in 2011. His big break came when he took on the role of Loki in Thor. Thor became a smash hit, earning over $180 million and Hiddleston won much praise for his portrayal of the charismatic villain. This film seriously took his stardom up a notch! Not only did he earn more notoriety, he also earned way more paychecks. His appearance in Thor was accompanied by appearances in the critically acclaimed films Midnight in Paris and War Horse. Hiddleston had the ability to return as Loki in 2012’s The Avengers as the film’s main villain. The movie became one of the highest-grossing films ever, making over $1.5 billion worldwide. In the film, Hiddleston went toe-to-toe with Marvel superhero veterans Robert Downey Jr. and Samuel L. Jackson and still managed to retain the magnetic appeal of Loki.

In 2013, Hiddleston appeared as Loki for the third time in the sequel to Thor, Thor: The Dark World. The film made even more than the first with a box office total of over $200 million. Even though Hiddleston’s made a big name for himself as one of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s best villains, he still hasn’t forgotten his roots. He appeared in the indie Only Lovers Left Alive and onstage in National Theater Live’s Coriolanus, in the titular role.

2015 brought Hiddleston even more critical acclaim. He brought his acting chops to High-Rise and Crimson Peak. In 2016, he starred alongside Hugh Laurie in The Night Manager, earning him his first Emmy nomination. Hiddleston has a lot on the horizon, as he is set to star in the next installment of the Thor franchise and lead the new film Kong: Skull Island. With more movies comes more cash. Hopefully, he isn’t too down about his break-up with Taylor Swift so that he can star in films for years to come and rake in even more money!

Despite being a gentleman at all times and his constant rise in fame due to the upcoming Thor movie, Hiddleston may have started off the year a little rocky. During his Golden Globes 2017 speech, he apologized for his “inelegantly expressed” comments when accepting the Golden for Best Actor. He’s received numerous criticism on Twitter after explaining an encounter in South Sudan, but don’t worry Hiddleston. You have the whole year to redeem that blunder.
