As we know, This Is Us has grown in ratings because of the personal and vulnerable stories from every single episode.
In the previous episode, we saw Randall and Beth struggling with the foster girl that they brought into their lives, Deja. In the beginning of the episode, Randell took the girls bowling, which resulted in a huge altercation when Deja didn’t want to take off her shoes. Additionally, it seems as though Deja is acting out by not washing her hair because it is something she can control. As the family waited in line, a girl made a comment about Deja’s hair and Deja pushed her. Randell stepped in and told the father that she didn’t mean it, that it was a mistake.
We also saw Kevin popping pills a lot during this episode. Red flag.
The last episode really focused on Kate and her obsession with losing weight and fitting into a dress that she was going to wear for her first paid performance. She is dangerously over-working herself. Why? Kate even refuses to eat Toby’s healthy poppyseed muffin. How could she refuse that? We see her nervously browsing the vitamins section of the supermarket. What is she up to?
At the end, we are left with a cliffhanger but we get our questions answered.
