We should be celebrating coffee and all things caffeinated at every chance we get and that’s why National Cappuccino Day is incredibly important.
Although it seems like a fancy, hipster drink, it’s actually just a shot of espresso topped with some steamed milk. Just to clarify, a cappuccino and a latte are different solely based on the consistency of the milk. A cappuccino is foamier and frothier while a latte is wetter and thicker.
And yes, the Insta-worthy latte art can also be done on cappuccinos, which is the most important part. Even a basic heart takes a ton of precision, technique and skill so when I see these barista artists creating incredible designs with milk, I’m amazed. Let me emphasize again that this is MILK we’re talking about. Not paint or pencils, this is ordinary cows milk (or maybe almond or soy for those of us with non-dairy lifestyles.)
I compiled some cool latte art for you to admire and gawk at during class or work and if you’re looking for some talented baristas to follow in Instagram, I highly recommend @jibbilittle, @ada_crew and @freepourart, but there are many other incredible ones out there of course.
Also, here are some tweets from cappuccino lovers in order to commemorate the day.

Really annoyed how people don't understand the difference between a latte and a cappuccino 😑
