Move over Kardashians, because one of the best reality television families is back and they are about to take over once again! Yes, you read that title right, Jerzdays are back baby! It feels like it was only yesterday that Ron was hooking up with two girls at the same, doesn’t it? But, that was already 5 years ago and now on Thursday, April 5th, the Jersey Shore family is headed back to Miami for a family vacation!
A lot can change over the course of 5 years, considering Snooki was pregnant during the final season, so let’s take a look into what’s been going on to get ready for the return of television’s guiltiest pleasure.
1. Nicole Polizzi (Snooki)

Nobody will forget that first episode of Jersey Shore when Snooki, walked into the Shore house for the very first time and yelled, “Party’s here!!!!!” and gets side eyed from everybody in the house. It may have been a rocky start, especially after getting punched in the face by some guy at a bar on the boardwalk, but that didn’t stop her from sticking it out and becoming the TV icon we all know and love.
Remember back in Season 3 when Vinny was hooking up with a girl and her uncle and cousin came barging into the Shore house to bring the girl home? And then on another night, Snooki brought that same girl’s cousin home from the club, found out his name is Jionni but then forgot his name so she called him Bernard? Well, that guy is now her husband and father to her two children Lorenzo (5) and Giovanna (3). They live happily ever after in their beautiful home in Jersey and together are raising two of the cutest and sweetest children alive. Snooki is truly such a good Mommy and seeing all of her posts with her kids on social media, really warms my heart.

With all of the new-found fame, Nicole has continued to expand her brand by creating her own YouTube channel, starting a podcast with her best friend and make-up artist Joey, and also starting a mini-series on Awestruck called “Moms With Attitude” alongside another one of her best friends and Jersey Shore’s very own, (also known as JWoww). Nicole now also has her own craft store on Etsy and just recently released a line of swimwear!
I can’t wait to see this new and improved Nicole in Miami but, there is no doubt in my mind that we’re going to see the Snooki we all know and love but maybe with just a little more clothes on.
2. Paul Delvecchio (DJ Pauly D)

A man who takes longer than many females to get ready in the morning. He’s the one who coined all of the terms that we all started using and still do use, and I cannot wait for “T-Shirt Time” and the deafening sound of Pauly’s voice as he yells “Cabs are here!!!”, and most importantly, for all of the bromantic moments between him and Vinny.
Pauly is now 37 years old, and currently single and ready to mingle. Although, in October 2013 he announced the birth of his daughter and went through a custody battle with the baby’s mother. Then in 2016, we saw Pauly D on the E! Network show, Famously Single, where he met his girlfriend Aubrey O’Day who he dated until July of 2017.
DJ Pauly D is still getting those fists pumping in the clubs though. Back in 2011 he signed a three-album deal with 50 Cent’s labels G-Unit Records & G-Note Records and continues to DJ at multiple clubs all over the country.
Single and ready mingle Pauly D, is the kind of Pauly D that I am so excited to see tear up Miami.
3. Jenni Farley (JWoww)

As bad ass as she is, let’s be real, Jenni was the Mom of the group and we all love her because of it because she also knew how to have a great time. I know she’s grown and matured a lot over the last 5 years but I would kill to see her go hide behind the bar to pee during this reunion season.
Can we all take a moment and thank whatever higher power is up there, for taking Tom out of Jenni’s life and bringing her Roger? We saw their romance bloom back in Season 3 and there was no looking back. The two are now married and have two beautiful kids Meilani (3) and Greyson (21 months).

Jenni and Roger also appeared on Marriage Boot Camp and Jenni won season seven of Worst Cooks in America on the Food Network. Today, you can see Jenni on her YouTube channel or in her mini-series “Moms With Attitude” on Awestruck, alongside Snooki.
I watch Jenni’s YouTube channel and Meilani and Greyson can definitely be a handful. As amazing of a mom as she is, I think she’d agree when I say this vacation was well deserved and much needed.
4. Ronnie Magro

“RAAAHHNNN STAAAHHHPPPPP”, ugh it never gets old, does it? Unfortunately, Sammi Sweetheart didn’t go on this family vacation so we sadly won’t be seeing her bed being lifted or her glasses being broken, this season. But, nothing will stop Ronnie from making his famous Ron Ron Juice to kick off the night.
Ronnie and Sam were on-again-off-again for what feels like an eternity. The two are now on separate paths and in their own relationships. Ronnie is currently expecting a baby girl with his girlfriend, Jenn Harley. But, we must make note that in 2017 Ronnie also appeared on the E! Network show, Famously Single, and there met his then-girlfriend, Malika Haqq!! Malika is Khloe Kardashian’s best friend and being a diehard Kardashian fan, and a Khloe stan forever, I’ll admit I was a little taken back when I heard Malika was dating Ronnie. The relationship didn’t last all too long considering Ronnie is now with another woman and expecting a child.
But, here Ronnie, hope you can keep your face out of girls’ chests this season. We’re all here for it!
5. Mike Sorrentino (The Situation)

I’m intrigued to see what goes on this season with Mike, aren’t you? Mike was known as the pot stirrer of the group and was the biggest tool of them all. He is the self-declared man of the house, yet was the one who always told somebody’s secret and also pulled multiple robberies on Vinny at the club.
It’s now a well-known fact that Mike has struggled with a bunch of personal issues over the years. During the last seasons of Jersey Shore, Mike was abusing prescription medication which lead him to rehab in 2012. Then a gym injury, two years later, triggered another battle with prescription medication abuse. It, unfortunately, continued to go downhill when he and his brother Marc Sorrentino were indicted for tax offenses in 2014 and were later met with additional tax-related charges in April 2017.
Aside from his personal issues, since Jersey Shore, Mike has appeared on many other reality shows including, Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars, Worst Cooks in America, his own series The Sorrentinos and Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars — Family Edition. On the most positive note, Mike has been dating a long time friend of his, Lauren Pesce. The two went to college together and dated for some time, but are now back together and seem super happy!
Mike is apparently now sober and despite all of his personal struggles, I’m excited to see Mike happy and healthy and what I hope to be on the right path!
6. Deena Cortese

“Party’s here!!! Times two!!!!” Who could forget, when Deena first arrived at the house as the newbie in season 3, already drunk and acting like the blast in a glass that she is. Ron said she looks like a gremlin and Sam called her Deana and didn’t even look her in the eye. Also on her first day, she showed Mike her cowboy hat and her “kookah”. You know, just Deena being Deena.
Deena was the best addition to this family, especially because Angelina was the absolute worst and we needed somebody fun and out there who wasn’t a loser like Angelina. Deena knew Snooki from home so their friendship seriously made the best TV. You can’t just have one meatball, you have to have two!
Deena was the only girl in the house who didn’t have a boyfriend for the majority of her time on the show. She would bring guys home but she always knew she was too good for every one of them. That was until she met Chris. She started dating Chris in 2011, just after season 4 of Jersey Shore finished filming. They dated for 5 years and went through many hardships together, including the loss of Deena’s father. Shortly after his death, Chris proposed to Deena and they were married in October of 2017. So far, the only kids they have are a Yorkie puppy, but we’re hoping we can add another member to the Jersey Shore 2040 cast some time soon.
And last but, never least….
7. Vinny Guadagnino

Is it just me, or is Vinny everybody’s favorite? There is just something about Vinny that always got me wanting to watch this show every week. It’s probably because he’s the only one who received a college education and was far less high maintenance but, nonetheless, he was just such an innocent wittle baby back then!
We all just wanted Vinny to find a girl that he could bring home to his Mom and at times I low key wanted that girl to be Snooki but, the closest he came to bringing a girl home was when he brought Pauly home to his house in Staten Island for a family dinner. Vinny and Nicole’s relationship made for some amazing television though, particularly the time when Snooki talks about the watermelon and the pinhole.
Luckily, after Jersey Shore ended it wouldn’t be the last we’d see of Vinny or his family. Vin, now 30 years old, decided to pursue an acting career and got some guest roles on The Hard Times of RJ Berger and 90210. Later in 2014, he hosted his own MTV talk show, The Show with Vinny. The show only ran for one season but shortly after, Vinny and his mom Paola competed on The Great Food Truck Race on the Food Network. Finally, most recently in 2016, Vin and his mom embarked on their own reality travel show called Vinny & Ma Eat America, seen on The Cooking Channel.
As far as love is concerned, as of December 2017, Vinny is dating, Elicea Shyann. There’s not much information on their relationship but one thing’s for sure, she is the furthest thing from a grenade. Oh and Vinny is ripped now and looking sexier than ever. Go get ‘em Vin!!
To be honest with all of you, I can and will keep talking about the cast of Jersey Shore for years. This show was the epitome of my tween years and made me smile, laugh and cry tears of joy and sadness throughout all six seasons.
I hope this helped prepare you so you’re all caught up and prepared to be pulled back into this madness! I have been waiting for this premiere ever since they announced that they were even going to do this thing, so who’s counting down the days!? I certainly am, and I hope you are too!
