In what fans are deeming as a strict violation of girl code, On Wednesday night, a concertgoer posted a snippet from Lorde’s concert in Rosemont, Illinois where the 21-year-old is seen singing two of rapper Kanye West’s songs.

Lorde chose to pay homage to the Chicago native and rapper by singing the songs, “Love Lockdown” and “Runway” in the midst of her concert.

With Kanye West still being public enemy number one in Taylor Swift’s book, and the two battling it out in one of the longest ongoing celebrity feuds ever, fans called out Lorde, a close friend of Tay-Tay for being a traitor for singing the rapper’s music.

To be fair, this isn’t the first time Lorde has covered West’s music on stage, and back in 2014 she called him one of her “idols“.

Some fans didn’t see the short tribute as a big deal and felt that great music deserves to be covered regardless of what celebrity beef is currently going on.

Swift and Lorde may be friends, but last year, the two had a twitter beef of their own when Lorde said some pretty hurtful and disparaging remarks about the two’s friendship.

Since then the pair has buried the hatchet and Lorde has maintained that the two are still very good friends.

“Taylor is a dear friend. I love her very much…I’ve always found people’s perception of this ‘squad’ idea frustrating in the past; it was never some exclusive club or secret society, but a wide circle of people, some of whom I know, and some who I’ve never met, like most wide groups of friends.”

Do you think Lorde shouldn’t have covered West’s songs in support of her friend or should she be allowed to cover anyone’s songs she likes-even if that person is feuding with her friend? Do you think this will affect the two’s friendship and cause some “bad blood”?
