Shameless is back for its ninth season and the Gallagher family isn’t slowing down. The trailer for the season is a crazy frantic preview of all the messes Fiona, Frank, Lip, Ian, Carl, Debbie and crew have gotten themselves into. The general overview is that Lip is now taking care of a 10-year-old girl Xan, Fiona is trying to expand her landlord business, Ian is still into gay Jesus, Debbie is facing unequal pay at work, Carl is at army camp, Veronica and Kevin are making the bar less “rapey” and Frank is sleeping around spreading STDs.
In the first episode, Fiona is still not sure if she did the right thing bailing Ian out of jail. He’s still on his gay Jesus high, which we will see play out. Frank, on the other hand, gets pinpointed as the man who has spread STDs to multiple people in the Hopkins Academy PTA. Frank tries to spin this situation of sleeping with people’s wives into a good thing, it doesn’t go well.
