‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Fans Are Heartbroken That Kevin & Astrid Called It Quits

Kevin and Astrid were a staple couple on season five of Bachelor in Paradise. They two instantly clicked and were together throughout it all, the Leo fight, Tia and Colton and Jordan throwing a stuffed animal into the ocean.

But during the BiP finale, the seemingly solid couple called it quits. Especially since they were teasing and engagement during the reunion. But Reality Steve warned us that the proposal they were teasing was fake.

Unfortunately, Steve was right because he always is.

Even with Steve’s warning, fans were still shocked when Kevin broke up with Astrid. Even before they broke up Kevin was reiterating to Astrid that he loves her.

“So I’ve never had a woman once tell me she loved me without returning it and I loved that you said that to me because it made me feel really good,” he told her.

So what happened, Kevin? He and Astrid were so good, stable and cute through it all. They could have dated outside of Paradise, they didn’t have to just get engaged right away.

What went wrong? Kevin said that he got cold feet when the couple was supposed to go into the Fantasy Suite.

“I feel like we are miles ahead of everyone upstairs. Everyone knows I have never felt this way in terms of easiness,” Kevin said to Astrid. “I think when it comes to these Fantasy Suites, the potential of picking out a ring tomorrow morning when you leave. When I went into the Fantasy Suit the first time, I came out with more doubt than I went in with. The second time in Vermont, I went in with Ashley when I shouldn’t have gone in at all.”

Given his Fantasy Suite track record, it makes sense why he didn’t want to go to the suite with Astrid. But the thing is even though the Fantasy Suite is known to be the place where couples finally get to have sex, they don’t have to have sex. It’s not contractually obligated to have sex while in the Fantasy Suite. Astrid and Kevin could have easily just gone into the suit and hung out.

When Astrid realized she was getting dumped she handled it like a champ.

“The one thing I asked you not to do is blindside me, not to do this at the very end,” she said to Kevin, “I can’t process what’s happening right now. I just need to get out of here. So, that what I’m going to do, go home.”

Needless to say, fans were crushed, heartbroken, sad, mourning, angry and much more.

Even former Bachelor and Bachelorette contestants gave their two cents on the breakup.

Some have even dubbed Astrid as the next Bachelorette, which I wouldn’t be opposed to.

But Astrid is doing just fine. She even made a joke about her breakup and wanting to get Instagram sponsors.
