Fans have waited long enough for Season 12 of The Big Bang Theory. We’ve already been witness to the long-awaited wedding of Sheldon (Jim Parsons) and Amy (Mayim Bialik) in the Season 11 finale, with guest star Mark Hamill from Star Wars on hand as the wedding officiant.
Monday, September 24 will mark the series’ 11-year anniversary since Season 1 released on September 24, 2007, on CBS.
All the main casts–Jim Parsons, Johnny Galecki, Kaley Cuoco, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar, Mayim Bialik, and Melissa Rauch–have committed to the show for Season 12, according to Kunal Nayyar’s Instagram.

The half-hour premiere will be immediately followed by a new episode of Young Sheldon at 8:30 P.M. on the same network.
Also sadly, Season 12 will be the last season of The Big Bang Theory. Warner Brothers Television, CBS, and Chuck Lorre Productions have all confirmed through an Instagram post on Wednesday, August 22.

In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Steve Holland spilled details about the season 12 opener, and it sounds like Sheldon and Amy are in for a pretty crazy adventure together. According to Steve, the first episode will showcase the newlyweds on their honeymoon.
“They’re making a couple of different stops,” Holland said in the interview. “Each one of them got to pick a location for their honeymoon.”
