Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters is a South African model who was crown Miss Universe in 2017. Nel-Peters was only the second South African to win the Miss Universe title. She began competing in pageants in 2017 when she was 22-years-old. Before she began competeing she was modeling part-time while in college.
Nel-Peters first competed in the Miss South Africa 2017 representing Western Cape. She ended up winning the competition and became Miss South Africa. Nel-Peters was eligible to compete in both Miss World 2017 and Miss Universe 2017, but because the pageants overlapped she just competed in Miss Universe.
She went on to win the competition and was crowned Miss Universe 2017.

Tim Tebow 2018-Present

In July Tim Tebow confirmed that he and Nel-Peters were officially dating. Rumors started to fly when Tebow’s sister shared a photo of the two on her Instagram. Tebow is a former NFL quarterback who now plays baseball for the New York Mets.
“She is a really special girl and I am very lucky and blessed for her coming into my life,” he told ESPN. “I am usually very private with these things but I am very thankful.”
The couple were dating and announced their engagement in January 2019. Tebow proposed to Nel-Peters while at his family’s farm outside of Jacksonville, Florida. While walking near the small lake. They ended up at an arbor and bench that Tebow specifically placed there that was engraved with the date the first couple met.
There is where Tebow got down on one knee and popped the question. Nel-Peters said yes and is now sporting a 7.25-carat solitaire ring on her left hand. Tebow had another surprise and South African singer Matthew Mole came out and sang their favorite song, “The Wedding Song.”
