The FBI has officially joined the search for Ellie Thompson, a 16-year-old girl who was last seen at her Sanford, Maine home on Tuesday, February 5.
What Happened?
According to police, Thompson — who was described as wearing a brown jacket, jeans, and a purple hooded sweatshirt — was last seen leaving her home in Sanford around 2 p.m. EST on February 5 carrying a “bright orange backpack”.
Additionally, police say that Thomspon — a white female with blonde hair and blue eyes — stands at approximately 5 feet, 1 inch tall and weighs about 100 pounds.
In addition to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Sanford Police Department, the Maine State Police have also joined in the search for Thompson.
On Thursday, February 14, investigating authorities said there is no information to indicate that Thompson is in danger.
