Colton Underwood’s season of The Bachelor ended unlike any of the previous 22 seasons. He didn’t have the last two rose ceremonies and chose between the final two women. With three girls left, Cassie, Tayshia and Hannah G., Colton decided he wanted to be with Cassie. She originally broke up with Colton, which sent him spiraling. He jumped the fence to hunt down the girl he loved and dumped Tayshia and Hannah to win her back.
Cassie is shocked and reiterates that she isn’t ready to get engaged and have a family. To be fair, she is 23. He drags Cassie to go meet his family and they all joke about his virginity. Roughly 36 hours ago Cassie broke up with him and now they’re off to meet his parents. They go on an awkward date where Cassie opens up about her commitment issues and previous controlling boyfriend. They then go to the Fantasy Suite and you know the rest.
The taped footage ended with them sitting on their bed saying they’ll give their relationship a try. There is no final rose ceremony, no ring, no proposal.
The couple then joins Chris Harrison on the live recording to talk about their relationship. Basically, they’re just dating, but are so in love. Colton is adamant that Cassie is his future.
Colton gave Cassie a symbolic “final rose” sealed with a kiss.
So they’re not engaged. There is no Neil Lane diamond ring on Cassie’s finger, but Colton is presumably not a virgin anymore and that’s really what this season was about.
After the finale aired, Cassie shared a snap of her and Colton. “The last 4 months, just focusing on “us” have been amazing and you have become my best friend,” she wrote. “You have shown me the purest, strongest love that any girl could ask for.”
The rest of her post was about how much she loves Colton and how their relationship has been a journey and she’s excited to see what’s next.

Colton’s post was arguably gushier than Cassie’s. “You changed my life for the better and made this year the best year of my life,” the former bachelor wrote. “I can’t wait for our adventures ahead… I have my best friend. I have my girlfriend. I have my future fiancé. I have my future wife.
