When it comes to fitness resolutions, it’s hard to stick to every little detail. There are days when you may feel tired, a date comes up, or you find any excuse ("Judge Judy is on!") to justify yourself. But that's only hindering you, and while it may seem easier to just give up sometimes, sticking to a plan to reach your goal isn't as hard as you think.
Ever have one of those days where you were supposed to make an appearance at the gym but got caught up in a marathon study session and platefuls of tater tots instead? Yeah, me too. It's called Saturday. But don't beat yourself up about those less active days; compensate for them!
This past week, I attended the IHRSA fitness convention here in San Francisco. Besides ogling all of the ridiculously ripped trainers, I got a sneak peek at our industry's latest innovations. Boy, is there a lot of new equipment out there! So long to those boring dumbbells and hello to these quirky new toys.

If you take a stroll around my city, you'll see girls and guys alike donning short shorts and track jackets, music a-blastin' from their iPods. They're only participating in the latest craze we like to call running. If you haven't joined the club, now is the best time to do so! Why?

I don't know about you, but whenever I have one too many PB&J sandwiches (or bowls of ice cream in the caf) it goes straight to my thighs. I can almost feel the glucose molecules shimmy their way down to my legs...and then I'm left shimmying into my favorite pair of Sevens. It's uncomfortable, it's frustrating and it leaves me feeling guilty.

Have you ever stayed up all night studying for a final? Blood shot eyes, empty coffee cups, pages and pages of notes...you know, the works. Do you remember sitting there wishing you had diligently studied all semester long, gone to class or stayed awake during the Powerpoint presentation? Well, I'm here to let you know that just like studying, the same goes for good health and fitness.
It's hard to believe when you've got snow melting into your Uggs, but Spring Break is just around the corner. For me, a girl who has a countdown to the next Spring Break starting the day Spring Break ends, that news couldn't be better. But for those of you who are having that "OMG I HAVE TO BE IN A SWIMSUIT IN 6 WEEKS?!" meltdown, this is less than a pleasant realization.
Sometimes, we may be really enthusiastic when we're working out (i.e. hot guy at 9:00 and I know he's watching me work this treadmill). This extra push on the body may cause strain to your muscles and no one wants leg cramps or excessive soreness the following morning!
Whether or not you're one to make resolutions, January is the best time to get in shape. Summer is now only a short six months away! Bring on the bikinis and shorter than short-shorts - it's time to look and feel great. In my past blogs, I've showed you how to tone up and strengthen your muscle groups. Now, it's time for me to explain how cardio workouts can really get that six-pack and those toned legs to show.

Another study states that in a good relationship, participants were shown to have less anxiety, lower blood pressure and even a longer life.
You’ve made some big, healthy changes in your lifestyle (i.e. skipping the elevator and opting for the stairs en route to your dorm room) and you’re hoping they’ve paid off when you try on some new jeans. But don’t rely on your fave fashion store to accurately determine your size.
