To be honest, I've always been a little torn about Valentine's Day. For me it's kind of like communism; while great in theory, it almost never works in the execution. Considering last year I got two Snickers bars from my now-ex (gee, I wonder why), I don't have high hopes for Valentine's Day, but I'm not a complete Cupid-hater either.
This Sunday, all American eyes will be glued to their television sets, but not everyone will be so into the game. Maybe it's because football isn't their thing or maybe it's because they wagered way too much money in the puppy bowl and are now majorly stressed. Whatever the reason, no one should be left out on all the Super Bowl Sunday fun.
This week, I'm in nostalgia/angry mode. Angry because my Dbag of an ex-boyfriend has decided to try to start calling me again (barf). Nostalgic because when I'm trying to blow off steam, I tend to go into organization mode and this time around, my music collection got my attention. While re-labeling my iTunes collection I came across an old favorite album of mine: AFI's 'The Art of Drowning.'
Anybody else out there already having to read volumes upon volumes for their classes? WTF? It's only the second week back, professors! Can't a girl catch a little post-break break? Le sigh.

When the Grammy nominations were released for this year, I was thrilled to see that Mumford and Sons were up for best new artist and best rock song for "Little Lion Man". I heard that song last year on the radio and immediately went home to download their album, Sigh No More, and every track is better than the last.

Not only do I want to mourn the end of my last semester break of college, but to also drink away this past week with my entire family under the same roof for the first time in a year. For this last weekend of break, I highly recommend AWOLNATION's debut EP, Back From Earth.

Here in central Texas, it doesn't really snow during winter. It just gets cold, rainy, and miserable. For some reason, I like to embrace rainy days and stay inside to be all gloom and doom. I want to do this today especially while I recover from some bad choices on New Year's Eve.
The non-stop Elf marathons last week made me realize just how much I love Zooey Deschanel movies. She's just so...cute! She also happens to be multi-talented.
With Christmas being just a few days away, I figured I'd go through my parents' CDs to get into the holiday spirit. I'd already listened to my own Christmas music collection (Mariah, Glee, NSYNC) and needed something different. Mannheim Steamroller's Christmas was a major find.
I know I'm one of the lucky few out there right now, but as of Friday I was completely donezo with finals/studying/projects/school BS. And I'm thrilled. Why? Because this means I can get my party on and drink the last semester away. I thought what better to do this with than with Kanye West's newest album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy
Boof. Finals Time. AKA the darkest of dark times for college students who are holed up in libraries with nothing but a Jimmy John's sandwich and a prayer.
I was born in Quincy, Illinois. I moved to Abilene, Texas when I was eight years old when my mom was offered a huge promotion from the company she worked for. I moved to Austin, Texas for college when I was eighteen, which is where I am now. And then a year ago, the company my mom had worked for for 21 years laid her off (damn recession).
This semester is FINALLY starting to wrap up. Exciting? Yes, I can't wait to finish this round of classes. Stressful? Hell yeah, mofo. The end of the semester means that every. single. thing. I've been working on is going to be due at the same time. And on top of that, I have to start studying for finals. Barf.
