Safety pins are no longer just for those dire emergencies when you’re getting your dance on, trying to get low, and then you split your skirt and need to pin it. (Yes, if you’re wondering, this may have happened to me recently.) Metallic safety pin inspired fashions are all over the runways this season.
One of the hardest parts of being a friend to someone is actually being a friend to someone. It’s not like when we were little we were taught how to be a friend outside the realms of “sharing is caring.” There are certain sticky situations, like dealing with a friend in a bad or abusive relationship, where no how-to guide can instruct us how to be a true friend.
Graduation is fast approaching and soon we college girls will have to swap our flip flops and sweats for pumps and two-piece suits. Unless you have an amazing job where you can work in your PJs, you’re going to need to update your wardrobe with some real people clothes (that don’t permanently smell of pizza and beer, no matter how many times you wash them).
As an All-American athlete, Appel has led the Stanford Cardinal to the Women’s Final Four for the past two years. She has more basketball awards than one can count, was one of Glamour magazine’s 2009 Top 10 College Women, and was the number 5 draft pick of the WNBA, picked to play for the San Antonio Silver Stars.

I’ve always believed that change is a good thing. It can take you out of your comfort zone and introduce you to new people, new places, and new experiences that you would never have known otherwise. I’m all for change, really I am, just not when that change removes me from my carefree lifestyle of afternoon classes, friends, parties, and little to no responsibilities.

The job hunt can be intimidating, frustrating, and downright difficult. In today’s market, jobs are hard to come by and a degree from a top university no longer guarantees that you’ll instantly land your dream job or that you’ll even be the best candidate for it. Whether worn over a cute spring dress or paired with skinny jeans, the basic boyfriend blazer is a must-have for every woman’s closet. Now don’t get me wrong, I obviously love me a basic black boyfriend blazer (say that five times fast… I dare you), but it can also look pretty boring and plain.
With graduation fast approaching, I am trying to cram in all the education and life lessons that I possibly can before I have to leave this place. I go to class, take notes, listen, and really try to absorb the teachings from all my amazing professors, teachers, and friends. However, there are some life lessons that simply can’t be expressed in a quarter long class or in a classroom at all.
I’m 21 and I’ve got the bridal bug. It’s all I can think about! I don’t know if it’s all the “Say Yes to the Dress” episodes I’ve been watching (I’m obsesssssed) or if my biological clock is fiercely ticking faster, but all I can think about is weddings, weddings, weddings.
Today, I was walking across campus on the way to my last class before Spring Break (CABO, HERE I COME!) and I had a HOLY SH*T moment. You know, one of those defining moments when reality slaps you hard across the face prompting you to stop dead in your tracks and scream HOLY SH*T. Well, today reality slapped me with the inevitable fact that I am graduating from college in three months.
Is it just me or is life all around better when it’s sunny and fabulous outside? All the constant sunshine makes me crave ice cream! But if you’re trying to be healthy and still can’t fight off your sweet tooth, fro-yo is a deliciously perfect, calorie-conscious substitute. Unfortunately, all these fro-yo shops popping up charge one-month's rent for a small cup with a few berries sprinkled on top.
I think I may have a serious problem, and I don’t think I am the only woman to have it. No, I’m not pregnant. No, I don't have any sort of STI. I am just romantically challenged.
Has preparing for midterms/tying up loose ends/getting your body ready for Spring Break left you stressed out to the maximus? Late-night cram sessions and 20-page final papers followed by an intense hour at the gym can have you looking and feeling less than your normal, amazing self.
