Finals are definitely a huge source of stress for me, but I don’t think anything stresses me out as much as registering for next semester’s classes. I hate the whole process, from trying to find out what classes I need, figuring out where they fit in my schedule, and praying that I’ll get into them.
The rising cost of tickets in past few years has turned what used to be a typical Friday night activity into more of a special-occasion-only event. Movie tickets can cost up to about $15 these days, which is way more than most college students can afford to shell out on a weekly basis. Just when I was getting used to the idea of rarely going out to the movies (except for Harry Potter, of course), I heard about Gofobo.
I’m a ridiculously sound sleeper (seriously, I’ve slept through earthquakes), which makes it really difficult for me to get up in the morning. When I first went away to college and I didn’t have my parents or sister to yell at me to get up when I hit the snooze button for a third time, I realized how big of a problem this could be.
College football season is officially under way, and whether or not you actually know anything about the sport, the fact is watching the games and rooting for your school is part of the college experience and a great way to socialize.
Don't you hate it when you have a song stuck in your head, and no matter what you do, you just can't stop singing it....even in your sleep? And why is it that the songs that get stuck are always the most annoying. songs. ever? (I'm talking to you, Justin Bieber and Ke$ha).
How familiar does this scenario sound to you? You're driving in your car or walking to class when you suddenly get a great idea or remember you have to do something...but by the time you get a chance to write it down, you've already forgotten it. Or maybe you simply forgot to write down an assignment right when it was assigned...and then forget to turn it in.
We all know that Etsy is a great place for unique handmade and vintage items like jewelry, home decor, and accessories. I've been known to spend hours on end browsing the site, and every time I manage to find a few things I just can't live without.
Pretty much every store has sales on back-to-school essentials this time of year, so you could just head to Bed Bath & Beyond or Walmart to pick up everything you need. But that's not always the best option, especially if you go to school in a major city like I did and you don't have a car. (Or if the people of Walmart scare you...) Let me tell you, lugging giant Target and JC Penney bags on to the NYC subway and bus wasn't exactly easy (or fun).
Get ready to love and hate me at the same time. Love me because I'm about to tell you about the best new blog out there. Hate me because you're about to fall behind - WAY behind - on anything productive that you need to do.
I love going out with friends for drinks or dinner, but unfortunately, it's something I haven't been able to do very often due to my minuscule college student's budget--until recently, when I found out about SpecialsAgent. SpecialsAgent is an amazing site that helps you find great deals on food and drinks in your area, making it the perfect resource for poor college students everywhere.
I've never been a designer-clothing type of girl. Not because I don't like them, but just because I couldn't afford them. Sure, there are tons of sale sites out there that carry designer brands for less, but it can be a pain to search through all the different sites for something that I actually like and can actually afford....before everything is sold out. Or at least that's what I thought until I found Shop It To Me.
In our technology-centered culture, we've created online ways to monitor virtually everything in our lives, including our bank accounts, diet and exercise, school work, to-do lists, music we listen to, personal relationships, and even our sex lives. Yeah, you read that last one right.
I've always dreamed of having my own personal shopper or stylist. Don't get me wrong, I loooove to shop, but searching through racks and racks of clothes to find something I like can get exhausting, especially with those overly perky sales people breathing down my neck. And it might be nice to sometimes have things picked out for me by somebody else.
