They come in all different colors, styles, and sizes. They’re a part of our daily uniform during the summertime (Editor's Note: And if you're me, they stay in rotation until the snow begins to fall); we wear them to the beach, to work, or when we’re just hangin' out in the house. Some people may hate on flip flops, but they are truly god's gift to mankind (after Channing Tatum and Coldstone Creamery, of course).
While hoodies don't exactly have a rep for being fashionable, every girl has a few in her closet. They are pretty much THE staple in every college wardrobe since they are comfy, warm, and easily slip on over whatever you wore to bed last night. Even hardcore fashionistas have lazy days!
So I know you're thinking: "How can you get anything for under $20 at a department store like Macy's?" I get it - sometimes I feel like I can't even afford to breathe the air in that store and I am doomed to spend my life lusting for everything on the over-stuffed racks. But I'm here to tell you it's not impossible.
There's nothing that puts a smile on my face like finding a fantastic bargain, and since we all wanna look good in a crappy economy, finding those deals is even more important these days. Each week I'll feature one store/website where you can find eight A-dorable items for under $20 (not too shabby, right?).
One shoulder cuts were all over the runways for spring and summer and while you can find some super sexy night time looks with this style, you can also find some more casual styles that can totally go from day to night with a couple of quick switcheroos.
There are SO many cute bathing suits, cover ups, sunglasses, totes, etc., out there that are muy cheapo but look muy expensivo. Plus, not only do you look like a beach babe, you look like an original that-girl-has-mad-fashion-sense one to boot.
Considering we had an extra day this weekend, this past week has been ROUGH. That Monday BBQ was awesome, but...
I’ve missed my sandals. I missed them so much that I dragged them out of the back of my closet a month ago, only to gaze longingly at them every day, sigh, and pull on another pair of warm socks. After a long, hard fall, winter AND spring of boots, rain boots, and snow boots, I am dying to leave the house in nothing but a kick ass summer dress and a fantastic pair of gladiator sandals.
Peppered throughout magazines and blog sites are optimistic articles about delicious summer activities and fashion trends to anticipate and enjoy. However, there is one thing about summer that is so heinous and disgusting that I feel I must warn the masses before it destroys them: flip-flops, fashion’s Anti-Christ.
The Maxi dress is a summer must-have essential. You can roll out of bed and throw it on with flip flops for an outside brunch. You can throw on a pair of wedges or heels and dress it up for a night out. You can dress it up for a night out, then roll out of (a cute man's) bed and throw it on for brunch with said cute man without it being SO blatantly obvious that you were wearing the same exact thing last night.
The summer season is here, and that means the season of sandals! But are you tired of wearing the same Old Navy flip-flops that everyone else has, or are your Rainbows almost worn out to the point of nonexistence? If you have a shoe addiction like I do, these homemade sandals will add a whole new dimension to your shoe closet.
The weather is getting warmer, and I don't know about you, but my feet are itching to get into some flip flops. Is it summer yet? Can we just jump into June full-throttle without even taking exams? Please?
Now that I’m halfway done with my college career, I anticipate all the bright eyed and bushy tailed freshmen about to invade the dorms and use fake-id’s at all my favorite bars. Putting myself in their shoes, I wish that someone had been there to give me advice for my college career (all I got was my Mom telling me not to hook up with any fraternity boys until Spring semester).
