How to stay trendy on a budget.
I started my winter break internship this week, and it obviously called for a major shopping trip before I hit the Big Apple last weekend. I visited a few the stores and came home with sweaters, skirts, dresses and countless other bags that didn't make my wallet happy.
With fall weather only a short time away, it's time to start building up our collections of sweaters, boots, and leather! Leather is going to be a big trend this fall season, so it's never too early to start planning what pieces you're going to buy. I found 8 leather looks from skirts to shoes to accessories! Whether you are bold and eager to wear an all leather look or want to be more subtle with leather sandals and bracelets, I've found a little bit of everything.
Even though Olivia Palermo hasn't graced our TV screens in a while, the paparazzi is still following her around. I don't know why, but she's stylish and I covet many of her ensembles, so I'm cool. She's like the American Kate Middleton, but way more visually interesting (and personally I think she has better hair).
Leather is one of the biggest fabrics for fall 2010. It is also one of the easiest to embrace because EVERYTHING can be made in leather: bags, shoes, leggings, shorts, jackets, skirts...the list goes on. And I love it all. Leather is sexy. It's edgy. And it makes everything look cool.
There are a lot of reasons to look forward to autumn: pumpkin spice lattes, the leaves changing color, good television, and - oh yeah - Fall fashion. September is the January of the fashion world, with designers battling it out to set this year’s trends, and magazines battling it out to report them.
Being an Italian-American myself, I've always been drawn to things that rep' my ethnicity, whether its contributions like calzones, or "contributions" like The Jersey Shore. But if there's one thing Italiano that I could never take my eyes off of, it was a little show called The Sopranos.
Long ago, I resigned myself to the fact that I'd never own anything by Rick Owens. Leather jackets priced in the area of my rent just aren't going to happen, even if they're supposedly comfortable enough to live in. Not buying it, literally.
The best outfits happen when you mix two contrasting styles to create something totally new. Recently, the feminine yet edgy trend has been spotted on many celebs, including Demi Lovato and Lindsay Lohan. The leather jacket adds a tough element to a floral dress, making a new and totally unique look.
The summer season is here, and that means the season of sandals! But are you tired of wearing the same Old Navy flip-flops that everyone else has, or are your Rainbows almost worn out to the point of nonexistence? If you have a shoe addiction like I do, these homemade sandals will add a whole new dimension to your shoe closet.
So I know that it's almost summer (finally!) and we've all been parading around campus in our flip flops, but these Steven by Steve Madden boots are just too cute to pass up simply because of the changing climate.
So it's a new season and that means new trends on all fronts, including one of my personal faves: handbags! This season keep your eyes open for some of the usual suspects (oversized bags, clutches and pops of color), some rollover from the fall (fringe) and some new looks (well, not necessarily new, but trends we haven't seen in a while).
