That “crazy” tag that we all get stuck with when we’ve had too much too drink and let our freak flag fly is part of Taylor’s every day life in the media. She’s fighting back with a “satirical” song that’s real and perfect. If you haven’t listened to Taylor Swift’s new album yet, there’s one song in particular that you need in your life immediately.
I’ve always had a love/hate relationship with Taylor, because she’s the ultimate go-to when you’re going through something, which means that once you’ve recovered, she’s a nasty reminder of the memories. Taylor always seems to blame herself for her break-ups, which is the ultimate go-to girl move. Yes, you knew that boy was trouble, but by blaming yourself for heartbreak, you’re never going to get over it (do yourself a favor, and move on to Miranda Lambert before you’re permanently lying on your bedroom floor).
Let’s be honest, if you’ve never been called crazy by a boy who has straight up terror in his eyes, you’ve never really lived. As someone who’s been called “crazy,” by the majority of my gentleman callers, “Blank Space” is anthemic. Taylor’s always been kind of a “crazy girl,” and by hiding it, she makes herself less relatable. Girlfriend, we see the guys you go through, and there’s no way that boning all those smoke shows wouldn’t drive you the teensiest bit bat shit insane. Taylor Swift’s good at being relatable, and good at getting her heart broken into a million tiny pieces, and this song is the perfect combination of both.
If you’ve ever been called crazy, this one’s for you.
