President Obama Cries On Live TV Over Gun Violence Victims

Whether you like President Obama or not, you have to give the guy some credit. He actually seems like a pretty cool dude- did anyone catch that Bear Grylls episode?! He even changed the color of his hair for you people.

But in all seriousness, Obama discussed gun control laws earlier this afternoon and couldn’t help but show emotion for the victims and their families. He wiped away a tear specifically when talking about the 20 first graders killed in Newtown.

“Every time I think about those kids, it gets me mad,” Obama said.

Yet the President believes that there is a way to protect the country while still upholding the Second Amendment.

“This is not a plot to take away everybody’s guns,” Obama said during his speech from the White House. “You pass a background check, you purchase a firearm. The problem is some gun sellers have been operating under a different set of rules.”

Yet Republicans are less than thrilled.

After Obama’s speech, Ben Carson tweeted, “Any executive order President Obama signs that regulates firearms transactions will merely regulate the freedom of law abiding citizens.”

Apparently he’s unmoved by the thought of dead first graders.

Regardless, I think we can all agree on one thing: As of October, there were 294 mass shootings in the United States in 2015 alone, so something’s gotta give.
