Yesterday, the House voted to pass the American Health Care Act, and in doing so, voted to take the first step in collapsing Obamacare. In the next few weeks, the Senate will vote on the act, which will be the deciding factor in Obamacare’s future (or lack thereof.)

Many people took to Twitter to express their outrage, concern, or paralyzing fear at the result of the vote with the viral hashtag #IAmaPreexistingCondition. The hashtag refers to the fact that the American Health Care Act could raise premiums for people with pre-existing conditions, which includes everything from MS and epilepsy to post-partum depression and, shockingly, sexual assault.

This means if a woman reports her rape, her health insurance costs could increase in some states.

While Obamacare has been in practice for less than a decade, it’s clear that it has had a massive impact on many peoples’ lives.
