If you’ve read this, you know that I’m not entirely convinced about the value of Clarisonic’s skin brushes.
I think the Clarisonic line makes some fine products – they promote exfoliation, they clean deep into the skin and they make your skin products more effective, which are all good things. I’m just not quite sure that they’re worth the price; they can run for as much as $225 and you have to keep replacing the brush heads (which aren’t cheap – it really adds up) every few months.
Luckily, there’s a similar brush out there and it comes at a slightly more reasonable price. If you do a bit of digging, you can find a good deal on this model from Prosonic (get on Amazon for less than $50).
The cool thing about Prosonic? It has three speeds – one for sensitive skin, one for normal, one for body. The cheapest Clarisonic version, the Mia, doesn’t have this feature. But when it comes to effectiveness, can this product measure up to the much-praised Clarisonic?
I used a face version for around a week and honestly I didn’t see any incredible results. Then again, I didn’t notice anything major with the Clarisonic line either. I will say that every time I use my Clarisonic, my skin feels super clean. I didn’t quite get the same result from this product.
My verdict? I you’d like to really exfoliate the skin on your body (this is more important than you’d think!) this product is worth it, provided you find it for a good price. But if you want something that will completely transform your skin? The slightly pricier Clarisonic Mia may be a better bet.
