It’s the 100th episode!!! That means something bat$h!t was bound to happen. And after weeks of foreplay, Ali is finally back at school! Let’s discuss:
1. An army of losers: Mona has got her own version of Power Rangers going on with her ragtag group of misfits. She’s steppin’ up a villain and it’s delicious! She’s got Jenna, Paige, and Sydney on her side but Ali isn’t one to show her fear. The two have a bitch off in an empty church and the two exchange slaps. And those weren’t bitch slaps but power slaps. It seems like Mona has the upper hand though because she revealed that she knew that the girls were in New York when Shana was killed. Mona also videotaped Ali’s threat and put her on the outs with the girls. Well played.
2. Pray for Spencer: There’s not a more dysfunctional family on TV than the Hastings. Veronica was looking extra shook up about that she may be married to a murderer. After Mr. Hastings tried to send her away last week, she returned and pulled Spencer out of school. It looks like the the Hastings women are on the run. At least Spencer had the consolation of looking like the 4th of July in her stars and stripes. The scarf around her neck was like a little Bonnie Parker look, perfect for the girl on the run.
3. Emily, the human bridge: Emily, Emily, Emily. One minute she’s awesome, the next she’s a puddle of disappointment. Since Ali returned to school, Paige decided that she could no longer be there. To get Paige back (at school, not in their relationship), she gets her to meet up with Ali and talk it out. Let’s just say that the girls don’t have a Kumbaya moment and hug it out. Their little pow wow gets Ali to admit to Emily that she did have feelings for her and that “those kisses weren’t just for practice.” Ali is a minx and the two hooked up. But if Ali is anything, it’s a liar and luckily Emily.
4. Because I have to mention her: Dumbass Aria. She’s still feeling guilty over the Shana murder and it’s a little much. She goes to mourn for her with Jenna but instead she just runs away when she sees Jenna crying. None of the liars feel for her, so of course she turns to Ezra and after showing her his scar from the shooting (an excuse to show her his abs), they fall back into bed with each other. I guess they’re back on. Hooray.
5. Just for men: What is going on with Toby’s hair? It looks like he got highlights or something and it was pushed back on his head like he was trying out for a spot on Dawson’s Creek. Ima need someone to do something about that. While we’re on the subject of men’s hair, let’s talk about Lucas. I am not feeling his chin strap and soul patch. I don’t even have words for what he looks like. And OMIGOD Caleb cut his hair and grew a mustache and chin action himself. But he actually looked good, like really good. Like Hanna should have jumped him in the coffee shop good. Why is he back? Can he stay? Can we keep him? Taking him away in the first place was the worst thing.
Questions: Who is Sydney? We know she’s working for Ali but was just playing Emily this whole time? Will Caleb stay? And the girl in Ali’s grave was Bethany Young, a patient from Radley. Who was she? And the new A burned Toby’s house down! Where is he going to live now? (Not a legit question, but come on, I couldn’t ask who A was.)
Amazing 100th episode! Until next time!
