"Ignore No More" App Forces You to Call Your Parents

You know how sometimes your parents call at the most inopportune moments? Whether you’re in class, shacking, drinking or just attempting to nap away the hangover from hell, it’s easy to wish that phones could have away messages. Unfortunately, “too hungover to function” isn’t exactly a great excuse for not picking up. When it comes to our phones, our moms are basically us with boys. If they don’t hear from us every hour on the hour, they assumed we died (understandably).

One Texas mom was sick and tired of her kids not responding to her calls, so she developed an app that forces them to called “Ignore No More.” If you can’t find the time to let your mom know you’re alive and kicking, she’ll turn off your phone from afar. With one tap, your parental units can disable your phone immediately, and the only way to turn it back on is with a call to them (with lots of begging, presumably). Luckily, you can still call 911 (which I’m sure teens will do to complain because their phone’s turned off). Right now, the app costs $1.99 and is only available for Android, which is another point in favor of iPhones.
I can’t help but think of all the helpful uses this app could have. Honestly, if you’re too drunk to talk to your parents, your phone should probably be turned off anyway. This app could be a real game changer in the fight against drunk texting. While it is all kinds of creepy, it might be useful on a not-boyfriend’s phone. I mean, of course there’s the whole issue of invasion of privacy… but mostly it’s an issue because you’d have to pay their phone bill. Otherwise, this app sounds like perfection to me.
