If you’re on your Twitter game, then you’ve noticed the #RelationshipGoals hashtag that’s sweeping the nation. While they’re endlessly dreamy and hopelessly romantic (in a fatally flawed, Nicholas Sparks novel kind of way), they sound like goals our parent’s might have set for our relationships. I can’t help but applaud the optimism of the Twittersphere, but the only fairy tale that would exist in reality would be Cinderella, who really would have lost just one shoe after a particularly fabulous party, but it would’ve been because she was blackout (no magic potion involved, except for alcohol).
The reality is that college girls and their post-grad comrades are lucky if they get a next day brunch (like, really lucky). Dating in the digital age is far different than the stock photography imagined by our grandparent’s clueless generation. Here are #RelationshipGoals for the realist in you.
