New 50 Shades of Grey Video Is Seriously NSFW

fifty shades of grey shocking

So far, the best part of 50 Shades of Grey is the soundtrack. In Earned It, The Weeknd gets up close and personal with a bunch of professional dancer’s pasties. The video culminates with a naked and bound Dakota Johnson, doing her best acting ever. (Seriously, girlfriend is decidedly boring.) The music video was directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, who’s also directing the movie — so prepare for some super steamy references to Anastasia’s inner goddess to really get you going this Valentine’s Day.

While the song itself is hauntingly gorgeous, the video is oddly similar to the FKA twigs Pendulum video and the pasties are a little bit reminiscent of Charli XCX and Rita Ora’s latest. I know I should be shocked, but it was better when twigs did it — especially since as a former professional dancer, it was beautiful and moving. In Earned It, Dakota just hangs there like a wet rag (see what I did there?). twigs created a dialogue about female sexuality through her work, while Dakota is used as a prop in an unoriginal way.

Unfortunately, even when boring, sex sells. (Actually, that explains everything about 50 Shades of Grey.)
