At first, we thought this was a belated April Fools’ Day joke, but according to The Hollywood Reporter, Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig are starring together in a Lifetime movie. Apparently, secret film is due to air this summer. They will play a successful couple who house and care for a pregnant woman with the hopes of adopting her unborn child. The title? A Deadly Adoption.
“The movie is described as campy and fun and a contemporary wink at the genre that comes as Lifetime is poised to mark the 25th anniversary of its TV movie business,” The Hollywood Reporter says.
Neither Kristen or Will are known for thrillers, but they’ve surprised us before. We didn’t know Kristen could dance until she stunned us performing to Sia’s “Chandelier” at the Grammys this year, and Will starred in the dramedy Stranger Than Fiction.
Not sure why two of the biggest names in comedy are appearing in a movie on Lifetime, but let’s be real – we’d watch these two play on a swing set together if we had the chance. We already know they have amazing chemistry, as proven by their stint as presenters at the 2013 Golden Globes.
Finally, a Lifetime movie that you don’t have to pretend you didn’t watch!
