BECCA Highlighters: Your Hangover's Worst Nightmare

You know how you wake up the day after too many shots and not enough sleep looking like someone slapped a big gray mask over your face? Yeah, there’s a solution for that.
You’ve probably heard of highlighter, which is basically a makeup product that adds radiance to your face. Any highlighter will help counteract that dehydrated, dull look your skin starts to take on, but because there approximately 193,389,038 to choose from, I figure I’ll make it a bit easier for ya by pointing you in a very good direction.
Becca’s highlighters have been getting tons and tons of attention and for good reason. I won’t say they’re the best highlighters, but I do think this brand, which focuses on skin perfecting products, offers up something that will work for just about any lady. So here you go — a handy dandy little guide to choosing the best highlighter for your skin. Whichever option you choose, you can expect to look much brighter and way less hungover after it’s applied.

SHADES:

The shade range here is awesome. All of the shades will look nice on just about anyone, but at the certain shades are ideal for hard-to-match skin tones.
Pearl: Super pale girls also won’t be overpowered in pearl, which is great for cool-toned light skin. It’s only available in liquid and poured formulas.
Moonstone: Also a great shade for pale ladies, though not as cool-toned. Medium skin tones could also use this as a strong highlighter.
Opal: This is the shade everyone goes nuts for – and yes, it’s stunning. A perfect champagne shade that would look good on just about anyone, but really works exceptionally well for medium/olive-skinned girls. (This is the shade I use and I have a warm, medium skin tone.)
Rose Gold: This one is also a stunner and it looks so original to me. It has a great blend of copper and bronze tones to it and would be ideal on tan/deep skin but if you;re lighter, you could probably wear it to add some color.
Topaz: If you;re darker, this is an amazing shade for you. Like the others, it is gorgeous. Also like the others, it would work on a variety of skin tones.
Blushed copper: If you have deeper skin with reddish undertones, this would be a perfect shade for you. It really works beautifully if applied lightly.

FORMULA:

Becca’s Skin Perfectors come in three formulas: pressed, liquid and poured. The best pick depends on a few things — how you like to apply your makeup, how much pigmentation you want and most of all, your skin type. Here’s what you can expect from each formula.
Liquid: These are awesome because you can totally apply them without any kind of brush if you need to. You just squirt a tiny bit on to your finger and pat, pat, pat it on along the high points of your face. This formula is ideal for ladies with dry skin. It gives a super dewy, ethereal glow and blends into skin easily. I find application easiest with this formula because you can use your fingers to really place the product where you want it, but not everyone agrees with me on that. The other great thing about these? They come in a travel size for $19 – and this small size will last for a long time.
Poured: Fans of cream blushes will love the texture of the poured highlighters. We see so many liquid and powder highlights and it’s refreshing to see a formula that’s sort of in between those two extremes. This formula would be perfect for skin that is neither dry nor oily. The texture is really nice and smooth and while the packaging looks tiny (it’s much smaller than the powder version but retails for the same price) consider how little you need when using a cream product. The finish of this is a little bit more frosty, so keep that in mind. If you don’t want a full-on shimmer, this might not be the best finish for you; I would say it might be best when used at night.
Pressed: This powder formula  is probably the most popular formula of this product. It really is lovely, one of the smoothest powder formulas I’ve ever felt. It works amazingly well on oily skin and it has a lot of pigment to it. You also get a ton of product with this formula and a little bit goes a long way. The drawback to this formula? You need to be careful when applying it. I would say that a using a small, fluffy  brush is almost essential to making this look well-placed and natural. If you apply too much, you can take on a disco ball look.
