I have always felt like drugstore makeup is inferior to the pricey stuff. I have very sensitive skin and actually wear very little makeup, so for me, buying fewer high-end products made a lot more sense than picking up tons of cheap ones. And yes, drugstore brands tend to add more chemicals, be less sensitive-skin friendly and have formulations that leave something to be desired – but sometimes, opting for the inexpensive drugstore option actually makes more sense. In face, some of the products you’ll find at your local Walgreens actually perform really well.
When it comes to skincare products, items you’ll use every day and things that require an excellent formula (think foundation), I would hit up Sephora. On the other hand, sometimes you can find exactly what you need at your local drugstore.
