Timbaland Makes a Promise to Release New Aaliyah Music

Timbaland often gets asked if he has any unreleased tracks that he had produced for the late singer Aaliyah. Lucky for us Aaliyah fans, the answer is yes! The super producer and rapper confirmed on Instagram that he will be releasing a possible posthumous album. He added that a sneak peek of new music will be on its way as well as posting a picture to instagram with Aaliyah face surrounded by clouds.

Since the death of the songstress she has been the topic of a controversial made for TV¬†biopic on Lifetime, and her vocals were used in songs by Chris Brown (“Don’t Think They Know”) and Drake (“Enough Said”).
Earlier this year, Timbaland worked with singer Tink who remade Aaliyah’s 1996 song “One in a Million,” Timbaland’s breakthrough which¬†began with a long partnership with the singer until her untimely death in 2001. It’s been been 14 years since her death, and we look forward to hearing these unreleased tracks from the singer. Rest in peace, Aaliyah.
