Carly Rae Jepsen's New Album Just Gave Us 15 New Reasons To Love Her

As much as I love “Call Me Maybe” (it’s still on my gym playlist), I’ll admit that I thought Carly Rae Jepsen would be a one hit wonder. But Carly has just released her third studio album, E•MO•TION, and color me impressed! It’s the fun, sing-along pop album we’ve been waiting for all summer, and it has nothing to do with Carly sharing a manager with Justin Bieber.
We should have known. When Jepsen released her first single “I Really Like You” in March, I praised the catchy tune, but of course it didn’t reach the earworm status of “Call Me Maybe”…mostly because nothing ever will. The entire album follows suit with the “roll down the windows and sing it out” vibe of the first single.
This time around, Jepsen collaborated with some of the most brilliant names in music, including the Cardigans’ Peter Svensson (who also writes for Ariana Grande and the Weeknd) and “Chandelier” singer Sia (who helped out on “Boy Problems”).
Finally, in a summer where we don’t really have an inescapable “song of the summer,” we have an album of the summer.
