Just last week, Dancing With the Stars introduced the professional dancers who would be returning to the ballroom. Now, we have our first celebrity competitor! Bindi Irwin, known to the world as the daughter of the late “Crocodile Hunter” Steve Irwin, will compete for the coveted mirror ball trophy, “Good Morning America” revealed on Monday.
“The judges scare me more than crocodiles,” Irwin joked with the GMA hosts, but it’s clear that she’s very excited to trade in her jungle boots for dancing heels.
The 17-year-old stunner was only 8 when her father passed away from a stringray attack, but she’s kept his legacy alive with her love of animals.
Will she be able to dance? Who knows, but she has one big thing in common with last season’s winner, Rumer Willis – she is mostly known as the daughter of a celebrity. Maybe this will show us all that Bindi is worth knowing for much more.
The new season of DWTS premieres on Monday, September 14, on ABC. Stay tuned to find out which other stars will hit the dance floor.
