Surprisingly, what constitutes what makes a college or university the best in the United States is not how much time they allot you to watch Netflix or how many parties the students throw. It comes down to what U.S. News World and Report has to say, ultimately.
According to U.S. News, they rated schools based on 16 categories such as graduation rates, ratings from students and college counselors and the number of students who stay past freshman year. There are also more specific lists, such as the best colleges for veterans and the best colleges for diversity.
The national university rankings should shock no one as it’s topped by the famous Ivy League schools (number one is Princeton University, if you’re wondering.) Interestingly enough, Williams College topped the Liberal Arts college list.
