A Gorgeous Girl Is Now Wheelchair-Bound After Taking MDMA

I’ve been to music festivals where drugs like MDMA (aka Ecstasy aka Molly) are passed around like candy at a six year old’s birthday party. To say I haven’t been tempted to try it is a lie – everyone seems like they’re having the time of their lives with the help of this little pill. Amy Thomson’s family is hoping this video of their daughter will stop temptation in its tracks.
Amy Thomson, a 16-year-old from Glasglow, allegedly took ‘one crystal capsule’ of what she thought was MDMA at a house party back in June when her life changed for the worst. She and three other teenagers were taken to a hospital, but while the others girls were quickly released, Amy was critically ill and ended up in a coma for weeks. Thomson survived, but was left with serious brain damage and in a wheelchair.
In this video released by her family that’s going viral, Thomson’s speech is slow and slurred as she says, “Thank you everyone. Thanks for your support everyone.”

Her cousin Kayla posted alongside the video,

Some people may have cried, laughed or been shocked seeing the video. But this is what a tiny pill can do to you. If this isn’t an eye-opener for everyone who continues to take stuff, I dunno what is!

Many of Amy’s friends hadn’t seen her since the house party in June and were upset by what they saw, but her family sees this video as a sign of hope that she will continue to get better. They see improvements to her condition every day and say she’s getting the best care.
See photos of Amy before her ordeal.

Thomson is now in rehab and occasionally visits her family at home.
We’re wishing Amy and her family all the best, and hoping everyone thinks twice before trying a “harmless” drug.
